The 1st day or the 7th?

In the New Testament, there are 8 texts that mentions the 1st Day of the Week. None of these speak of changing the Sabbath from the 7th to the 1st day of the week.

In the New Testament there were no issues on what day was the Sabbath. The Jews had issues with what things were done because of all of the laws that they made about the sabbath.

Let us Study.

  1. Matthew 28:1 (Nothing mentioned that changed the Sabbath)
  2. Mark 16:1 (Nothing mentioned that changed the Sabbath)
  3. Mark 16:9 (Nothing mentioned that changed the Sabbath)
  4. Luke 24:1(Nothing mentioned that changed the Sabbath)
  5. John 20:1 (Nothing mentioned that changed the Sabbath)
  6. John 20:19 (Nothing mentioned that changed the Sabbath)
  7. Acts: 20:7 (Nothing mentioned that changed the Sabbath)
  8. 1 Corinthians 16:1 (Nothing mentioned that changed the Sabbath)

Now out of the 8 texts, there is no mention of the Sabbath being changed to the 1st day of the week. So when was it changed to the 1st day of the week???

What difference does a day make?

  • 6th Day, Preparation: Good Friday
  • 7th Day, Jesus Rested, body still in the sepulchre: Sabbath.
  • 1st Day, Resurrection Day: Sunday,
  • Once you finish a week counting 7 days, you start back at the 1st day of the week.
  • OK, what difference does a day make?
  • Let us ask Adam and Eve what difference does fruit make?
  • Let us ask Cain and Abel what difference does a sacrifice make?
  • Let’s ask Uzzah what difference does touching The Ark make?
  • GOD is a GOD of specifics. Dr. Carlton P. Byrd

Why do you do what you do, Traditions?

The Ten Commandments are not against you. Remember the Sabbath Day; Thou shalt not steal, Thou shat not kill, Thou shalt not commit adultery, etc., if we obeyed them, they would protect us.

WE CANNOT SERVE GOD THE WAY WE WANT TO SERVE HIM, WE MUST DO WHAT HE SAYS. So, the ??? is, what do you say?

Why do you do what you do, Tradition? Acts 5: 28 29 Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us. 29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey GOD rather than men.

Mark 7:6-9 6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honored me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. 7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. 8 For laying aside the commandment of GOD, ye hold the Tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.9And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of GOD, that ye may keep your own Tradition.

My journey to get back in church.

In my journey trying to become a better person, I now realize that God is very specific about what He says and does. You may ask, why did this guy study the videos, study the bible and print all of the things that all these ministers taught? My answer would be something like this!

  • I was trying to justify or find a loop-hole in God’s word concerning the Sabbath.
  • This will be an issue at the end of time who you will worship.
  • I’ve never-ever heard a biblically base sermon in a 1st Day church about the correct day to worship. Just being honest.
